Josephine Cooper Leaves Toyota

Toyota Motor North America (TMA) today announced that Josephine (Jo) Cooper, group vice president, public policy and government/industry affairs for Toyota Motor North America has announced her decision to retire effective October 1, 2010.
Ms. Cooper, who has been with the Toyota for nearly seven years, had primary responsibility for the direction of Toyota's public policy including federal and state government affairs, legislative, regulatory and compliance issues. 
“Jo’s dynamic leadership, political insight and outstanding service, have been tremendous assets to Toyota,” said Yoshi Inaba, president and chief operating office of Toyota Motor North America. “All of us thank her for her many contributions to Toyota’s success and wish her every success in the next phase of her professional career.”
Prior to joining Toyota in 2004, Ms. Cooper served for five years as president and chief executive officer of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, a coalition of car and light truck manufacturers dedicated to improving vehicle safety and environmental progress.
Dian Ogilvie, senior vice president, Toyota Motor North America will oversee the Washington office on an interim basis.
