Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Announces Executive Appointments

TORRANCE, Ca. (August 29, 2011) -- Toyota Motor Sales, (TMS) U.S.A. Inc. today announced the following executive appointments across the Toyota and Lexus Divisions.
Dave Nordstrom is appointed to the newly created position of vice president, social media. Formerly, vice president, Lexus marketing, Nordstrom will lead efforts to develop and coordinate social media strategies across divisions and North American affiliates that augment Toyota’s overall brand marketing strategy. In his new role, Nordstrom will report to Bill Fay, group vice president, marketing.
Brian Smith will replace Nordstrom as vice president, Lexus marketing. Smith was formerly vice president, Lexus sales and dealer development, and will continue to report to Mark Templin, group vice president and general manager, Lexus Division.  
Tim Morrison is promoted to vice president, Lexus sales and dealer development, replacing Smith. As former corporate manager, marketing communications, Morrison will now report to Templin. Morrison’s replacement will be announced shortly.
Dave Zellers, formerly vice president, customer retention, is appointed to the newly created position of vice president, Toyota Customer Services (TCS) new business integration. In his new role, Zellers will be responsible for ensuring the successful integration and launch of key TCS initiatives and new products across multiple TCS departments. Zellers will report to Fletcher Davidson, group vice president and general manager, customer services division.
Andrew Coetzee is named vice president, Lexus customer service, replacing Al Smith who recently accepted a position at Toyota Financial Services. Formerly vice president, Lexus brand development, Coetzee will continue to oversee this area in addition to fulfilling his new responsibilities. He will still report to Templin.
Nihar Patel is joining Toyota Motor Sales as vice president, business strategy and will report to Chris Hostetter, group vice president, strategic resources. With more than 22 years experience in the automotive industry, Patel was most recently managing director of marketing operations, public affairs and supply chain at a Toyota Affiliate in Saudi Arabia. Patel has an MBA in marketing from Bentley University and a BS in marketing from New York University.
Jacqueline Thomas, formerly corporate manager, chief audit executive, is promoted to vice president, corporate responsibility, replacing Barbara Arnold, who retired in July 2011.  Thomas will report to Chris Reynolds, group vice president and general counsel.
These appointments are effective immediately.
