Albert Ma is chief information officer and vice president for Toyota Financial Services (TFS).
Ma joined TFS in November 2015 and leads the Business Technology Solutions (BTS) department. He is responsible for defining and driving an information technology agenda that supports business performance and enhances the customer experience. These responsibilities include overseeing the management of existing technologies, development of new technologies and innovative solutions, and insuring appropriate value for IT spend. Ma is also a member of the TFS Management Committee. He reports to Julia Wada, group vice president of Human Resources, Business Technology Solutions, Real Estate & Facilities.
Ma began his Toyota career at Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) – first, as a Business Analyst in 2001, and then as a Senior Business Analyst from 2002 to 2004.
In 2004, Ma began his role as IT Strategy & Project Management Office (PMO) manager.
He was promoted to IT national manager, Office of the CIO, in 2007, and served in this capacity until 2010, when he became divisional information officer, Toyota After Sales Channels.
Prior to his work with Toyota, held a number of research and project management positions within L. Kee & Company and the Glaucoma Research & Education Group.
Ma’s work has been recognized repeated over the years. In 2012, he received the Ones to Watch Award from CIO magazine for outstanding achievement and leadership accomplishments. Ma was also awarded the Top 100 Award from CIO magazine in 2011 for Product Quality Analytics, and again in 2014, for Service Lane Portal.
Ma received a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
